Forrest 原名取自莊主 John. Forrest 姓氏,該酒莊在西元1988年 由 John 和他的妻子共同努力建立。John 出生於紐西蘭 Marlborough,1982年獲得神經生理學博士學位。1983年在 Adelaide University 分子生物學擔任職務,1986年回到紐西蘭創辦分子研究機構。但由於對葡萄酒的熱情 , John大膽放棄醫藥與生物學的工作,並於1988年回到 Marlborough 開始致力於在擁有石質土壤的核心地帶建立並培育酒莊的葡萄園。

John投入自己全部的精力,凡事親力親為,那怕是工作再累,也要將葡萄酒照顧好,大家一定想像不到,John 全年一年產量極低,完全是比照一個超小型的酒廠。但他的工作精神和細節一點也不馬虎,堅持自己釀造法,讓葡萄自己本身去發揮該葡萄品種自有特色,就像真理永遠掌握在少數人手中一樣,這種「獨特和偏執」的釀酒人的個性,還原了紐西蘭自有的雅致和清新,高雅的酒體,不但沒讓人感到失望,反而給這個酷暑帶來了高雅的風範! 但真正將Forrest酒莊的釀酒哲學推至世界高度的,是其榮膺無數國際競賽大獎!!

The wines of Forrest Pinot Noir 2012 Offer ( Malborough 產區)

John • Forrest Tasting Notes: Deep ruby red color with berry fruit flavours. On the nose, some lovely peppery Morrocan spice notes, raspberry, strawberry, red cherry, an earthy ‰ÛÏforest floor eaf note and just a hint of sweet spicy oak.åÊThe fresh berryfruit aromas continue through onto the palate,together with a rich underlay of christmas fruit cake, long savoury after taste. A very good example of Marlborough Pinot Noir that will reward 3 to 5 years bottle maturation.

Robert Parker Tasting Notes: Pale to medium ruby purple in color, the 2012 Pinot Noir offers up a nose of ripe black cherries and black raspberries complimented by hints of underbrush and Provence herbs. Framed around a decent core of uncomplicated black and red berry flavors, the medium body is supported by a low level of chewy tannins and lively acid through the medium to long finish. Drink it now to 2019.

The wines of Forrest Sauvignon Blanc 2014 Offer ( Malborough 產區-白酒) — 紐西蘭最著名的白酒葡萄品種—Sauvignon Blanc

This Sauvignon Blanc was drawn from 4 vineyards located around Renwick in the Wairau River Valley. Whilst all have their own characteristics, they share in common a Wairau River gravelly, free draining and devigourating soil profile. This classical Marlborough terroir is critical in achieving the smaller berries and lower cropping levels needed to produce premium Sauvignon Blanc grapes. (本年份榮獲紐西蘭sauvigon Blanc金牌獎)

Robert Parker Tasting Notes: The 2014 John Forrest Sauvignon Blanc has a somewhat sweaty / musky nose with a core of grapefruit, lemon drops, cedar and jasmine plus a touch of chopped herbs. Light to medium-bodied, it fills the palate with evolving citrus and toast flavors with a lively backbone and long finish.

剛開瓶時,可以聞到很濃的芭樂香味,融入其中的還有新鮮的青草、萊姆及柑橘香氣,完全是非常典型的Sauvignon Blanc! 入口的感覺,則讓人有點驚訝,因為她的酒體雖然還是很清爽,但卻可以感受到一點圓潤的氣息,彷彿多了一點典型加州Chardonnay油滑的感覺(這是我自己的感想),很特別的一種味道!入喉後的餘韻,則帶有清爽的酸度,感覺很平衡。 雖然酒的整體架構談不上是什麼大酒,但輕鬆易飲,香味又好,拿來搭中餐(白肉、海鮮)或夏日海鮮類,個人認為是個不錯的選擇。
