Tenuta dell’Ornellaia 酒莊，是超級托斯卡尼『Super Toscan』的典範。
四十多年前，義大利各地仍生產以日常飲用的葡萄酒為主，產量大品質一般。義大利Antinori家族的Lovovico Antinori先生在其姨丈創立以品質為追求目標的Sassicaia獲得空前成功後，在1981年也打造了Tenuta dell’Ornellaia酒莊，1985年產出第一個年份，旗艦酒Ornellaia隨即在1986年打響名號，成為義大利品質最優良的酒款之一。
Ornellaia 使用波爾多品種釀造，因不符合當地法規，只能使用 Vino da Tavola 這個一般餐酒等級，其上有 DOC 與更高的 DOCG 等級，義大利當時出現許多這樣 Vino da Tavola 等級的超級『低等』酒款，品質遠遠勝過其他高等級酒款，因當時這類酒莊於托斯卡尼 Toscan地區，便有超級托斯卡尼『Super Toscan』的稱號。
這樣混亂的現象讓整個義大利葡萄酒分級系統顏面盡失，有關當局便於1992年創立義大利地區餐酒IGT等級，讓這些超級托斯卡尼酒款歸為IGT之下，而如Sassicaia 與 Ornellaia 這類國際明星級酒莊，當局更於1994年修改Bolgheri DOC法定產區的法規，讓他們歸屬其下。第一推出的年份1997年 Le Serre Nuove 已經得到 Decanter 百大的評價，後繼的2007和2010年同樣亦是好年份,尤其又是大家公認的2010年又再次榮登Decanter 封面排行首頁!
Ornellaia是義大利的經典，有無可取代的偶像地位，而這支Le Serre Nuove為不折不扣的Ornellaia二軍酒。
劉永智所著『頂級酒莊傳奇』一書提到：『酒莊品質最高的酒液才有殊榮獲選裝瓶成正牌的Ornellaia酒款，其餘則裝瓶成為二軍，二軍釀法其實與Ornellaia如出一轍，葡萄也出自同一塊地，之後才將口感較軟熟，果香奔放，逐一從桶次挑出，裝瓶成Le Serre Nuove。』
可以見到，二軍釀法與正牌Ornellaia如出一轍，反而果香奔放現在就能早享受，是非常實惠的好酒，由於使用了比一軍更多，高達40%的Merlot 葡萄，讓酒體更柔和甜順

Le Serre Nuove 葡萄酒是由我們精挑細選的最上等的葡萄釀造的，我們種植這些葡萄的葡萄園具有65年歷史、是一塊座落於溪流旁邊的天然梯田。那裏宜人的小氣候、肥沃的土地以及低密度的種植和精心的照料使得用這些葡萄釀造出的葡萄酒具有獨特品質。只有當我們認為葡萄的品質已經達到了最佳狀態，才會釀造這種葡萄酒。 此酒的釀製過程是將三種葡萄品種分開發酵，發酵和浸皮過程平均20~25天，轉換至70%全新和30%使用過一次的法國橡木桶中經過18個月熟成，其中經過12個月後釀酒師會將此三種葡萄酒以適當比率混合，再於橡木桶內醇化6個月，並在瓶中儲存12個月才上市，因此需等三年後才會在市場上露面

Robert Parker Tasting Notes: The 2010 Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia shows off tons of concentration and sheer depth. Mocha, espresso, dark cherries and plums are some of the many notes that take shape in the glass. The 2010 is a decidedly powerful, virile wine endowed with considerable power. It will be interesting to see how the layers of flavor flesh out once the wine has been bottled. For now, the 2010 is a highly promising Serre Nuove. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2027.
