曾被中世紀吟遊詩人稱為「酒中之王，王者之酒」的 Barolo 葡萄酒，至今仍在世界酒壇擁有無比的地位。
Conterno家族經過五代釀酒人的努力後，藉由酒王Barolo重新擦亮了這塊光鮮的招牌，在此過程中Aldo Conterno 扮演著極其重要的角色。他對釀酒技術的創新及熱情引發了Barolo的文藝復興運動，並將傳統工藝與現代技術完美的結合在一起，立下了往後釀造 Barolo 的標竿
1950年代時，Aldo曾遠渡美國幫叔叔在加州建立酒莊。在1961年他回到義大利的家族產業，並和哥哥共同繼承了父親的Giacomo Conterno酒莊 ( Barolo裡的 DRC)，1969年，他們兄弟倆分道揚鑣，他買下”Favot”農場建立了 “Poderi Aldo Conterno” 酒莊，實現他自己的夢想。
Aldo Conterno酒莊擁有的25公頃葡萄園，位於Monforte d’Alba著名的Bussia斜坡上，被認定為Langhe區最好的產區之一。三座葡萄園，分別為Romirasco, Cicala 及 Colonello，位於約海拔400公尺的山丘上，面朝南-西南方。土壤是含鐵的黏土及石灰岩，酒莊總共釀製出10種迷人的酒款。其中Barolo酒款，經過不等時間的浸皮發酵後，便各自於大型Slavonian橡木桶中陳釀。晚年Aldo 同意讓兒子使用法國橡木桶，但堅持 Barolo酒款除外，這是他不變的原則。
Aldo有著純正義大利紳士的謙遜及友善的舉止，無法掩飾他與生俱來的坦率與良好的專業能力。Aldo Conterno於2012年初夏過世，一生心力全部奉獻給 Barolo，他離去無疑是 Barolo 產區的一大損失。

Robert Parker Tasting note: The 2012 Langhe Rosso is a new wine made predominantly from old-vine Freisa with Nebbiolo that is basically an updated version of the wine previously sold as Quartetto. The 2009 boasts gorgeous palate presence and depth, with sweet notes of red berries, flowers and spices that add lift on the juicy, pliant finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016.
Wine Spectator Tasting Note : Dark tones of pomegranate, blueberry and blackberry mingle with earth, sage and underbrush notes in this complex and intense red. The firm tannins need fatty food to neutralize. Drink now through 2023
產自20-30年的葡萄，富含石灰質的黏土土質使釀造出來的酒款結構寬廣厚實，產區: different vineyards in Bussia (Monforte d’Alba).。the new wine spends a few months inside stainless steel vats, it is transferred several times, and, consequently, it is poured onto barrels (“barriques”) where it remains for 12 months; finally, it will be bottled.
